With a CV that reads like an atlas of the racing world, Hong Kong Champion Jockey Zac Purton’s quest for further honours has not diminished. The Australian born superstar has captured elite races across the globe with Group 1 wins in England, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and of course his homeland of Australia where his journey to the top started in humble surroundings. Zac began his riding apprenticeship in the small coastal town of Coffs Harbour 500km’s north of Sydney and such was his domination at an early age he achieved the rare feat of winning the Brisbane Premiership title whilst still an apprentice in 2003.

A successful stint in Sydney followed finishing second (twice) in the Sydney Premiership – regarded as one of the strongest jockey colonies in the world – before the move to Hong Kong in 2007. Over 1500 HK winners later and with four hard fought champion jockey titles secured Zac is a sporting icon and fan favourite in the Asian racing mecca.
